President Bola Tinubu on Monday appointed Adewale Adeniyi as ComptrollerGeneral of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Mr Adeniyi is to replace former Customs CG, Hammed Ali, who was relieved of his job alongside all service chiefs Monday afternoon.

His tenure was perhaps more infamous for his refusal to wear the institutions uniform, which Mr Buhari failed to address for nearly eight years.

Mr Adeniyis appointment was announced alongside others in a statement by the Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation.

Mr Adeniyi, who holds a masters degree in communication management, once served as Customs spokesperson between June 2002 to May 2011.

His appointment comes as the transition panel advised Mr Tinubu to merge Customs and Federal Inland Revenue Service in order to maximise revenue generation for the federal government.

Mr Ali.
