The final results collated by INEC showed that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, scored the highest votes.

He was closely trailed by Senator Aisha Dahiru Binani, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

It took place in 28 states across the country, with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announcing various victors in nearly all 36 states.

But in Adamawa and others, the electoral body declared the exercise inconclusive after failing to announce a winner.
