September 24, (THEWILL) – The Executive Vice Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) ot th Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta has officially declared that Artificial Intelligence technology reiterates NCC’s commitment to harnessing the power of technology to drive economic growth, social development, and innovation across the African continent.
The NCC boss elaborated more on the fact that AI technologies require a skilled workforce capable of developing, deploying, and maintainance in Africa.
In conclusion, Artificial Intelligence and Africa according to the theme, is meant to offers Africans a glimpse into the immense possibilities that lie ahead, noting that AI holds the power to transform societies, drive economic growth, and improve the well-being of Africans; asking Africans to seize the opportunity and work together to build an inclusive, sustainable, and AI-powered Africa.
The declaration made at the opening ceremony of the 11TH edition of the Digital Africa Conference and Exhibition (DACE), from September 19 to 21, 2023 AT REIZ Continental Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria.
These include healthcare, agriculture, finance, transportation, education, and even governance, that AI-powered solutions have the potential to address some of Africa’s most pressing challenges, such as limited access to healthcare, food security, financial inclusion, and infrastructure development
