The result has been announced by the REC.
Senator Ishaku Abbo representing Adamawa North senatorial district has alleged that the INEC lacks the power to nullify the controversial Adamawa governorship supplementary election result declared by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) because he was happy as Binani was announced as the governorelect, not minding if any law was broken.
According to Daily Post, Abbo who spoke in an interview with Channels Television said provisions of the Electoral Act, as amended, forbids INEC from voiding the results declared by the REC and according to the Electoral Act, further proclamation by INEC on the Adamawa supplentary election would be insignificant.
He further alleged that he was very happy as the suspended REC announced Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani as the governorelect of the supplementary election and he doesnt care if any law was broken.
He said, I was happy as the REC announced Binani as governorelect, I dont care if any law was broken.
He continued, They (INEC) cannot suspend collation.
They said the reason why they have not reviewed Fufore was that it was announced.
