Chelsea are considering bidding for Arsenal’s goal poacher Folarin Balogun and have opened up talks with the player’s representatives.
Chelsea are bent on bringing new players to Stamford Bridge after about 11 players have left the club this summer.
The London club are keen to bolster their manager Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this summer transfer window.
In 2022/23 he scored 22 times for Stade De Reims on loan in France, more than any Arsenal player did under Mikel Arteta.
He also banished memories of a failed loan to Middlesbrough one year earlier. Now, one year on, and Balogun is in position to make a serious push into the first team squad.
When on international duty he was asked about the next steps, to which Balogun replied: “I’m not sure [about] the discussions that are going to take place. I’m not sure what’s going to happen.
According to Football Transfers, Balogun’s representatives have touched base with Chelsea over a switch to Stamford Bridge after a successful loan spell at Reims last season.
Chelsea appear to be leading the chase for the USA international, who has attracted attention from a host of top clubs across Europe this summer.
Monaco, AC Milan, Inter Milan, RB Leipzig, and Marseille have all been linked with Balogun.
