Vuskovic helped Hajduk Split win the Croatian Cup last season and was a starter as their Under-19s reached the UEFA Youth League final. He will remain with the club until 2025 when he joins up with Tottenham aged 18.
September 25, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur have secured the future signing of talented Croatian defender, Luka Vuskovic, it was announced on Monday. The 16-year-old will join Spurs in 2025 after he turns 18 and has signed a contract until 2030.
Vuskovic has already made 11 senior appearances for his current club Hajduk Split, becoming the youngest player in Croatian top flight history when he debuted in February this year. The centre-back also holds the record as Hajduk’s youngest ever goalscorer.
The prodigy was wanted by many of Europe’s top teams including Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. However, Tottenham convinced Vuskovic that North London was the best place to continue his development.
The Croatian becomes Tottenham’s third centre-back signing since Ange Postecoglou took over as head coach. Vuskovic will be joining up with recent summer arrivals Micky van de Ven and Ashley Phillips in a new-look Spurs defense.
