The American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowships is a scholarship program that provides funding to support the education of women from around the world who are pursuing graduate degrees in the United States. The program aims to promote gender equity and educational opportunity by providing financial support to women who might not otherwise have the resources to pursue their educational goals. Since its inception in 1917, the AAUW International Fellowships program has supported over 4,000 women from more than 130 countries.

Requirements

To be considered for the AAUW International Fellowships program, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a woman who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must have earned an undergraduate degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree by September 30 of the year of application.
  • Must have applied to or be enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program at a university in the United States for the upcoming academic year.
  • Must intend to devote herself full-time to the proposed academic plan during the fellowship year.
  • Must be proficient in English and able to participate in an interview conducted in English if selected as a finalist.
