To be eligible for the Australia Awards Scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries
  • Not have Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or be applying for one
  • Have at least two years of work experience in their field of study
  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Meet the English language requirements of the institution they are applying to
  • Not be studying or planning to study at an institution outside their home country
  • Be able to meet the requirements of the Australian Government's health and character checks
