The Flinders International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (FIPRS) is a highly competitive scholarship program that offers financial support to outstanding international students who wish to undertake a research-based postgraduate degree at Flinders University in Australia. The scholarship covers the international student tuition fees, a generous living allowance paid at the rate of $33,000 per annum (2023 rate, tax exempt), Overseas Health Care cover and an establishment allowance of up to $1,485 to assist with relocation costs and airfares.

The scholarship is tenable for up to three years for a Research Doctorate degree and up to two years for a Research Masters degree.

Requirements

To be eligible for the FIPRS, applicants must:

  • Be an international student, except for students from New Zealand
  • Meet the academic entry requirements for a research degree at Flinders University
  • Have a first-class or second-class upper Honours degree or a Master's degree with a significant research component
  • Have a high level of English proficiency (minimum of IELTS 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0, or equivalent)
  • Have a research proposal that aligns with the university's research priorities and demonstrates the potential to make a significant contribution to the field of study.
