The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) is a Dutch scholarship programme that provides opportunities for students from developing countries to study in the Netherlands. The programme is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education.

The OKP aims to contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of developing countries by providing education and training opportunities to professionals and students. The programme focuses on strengthening knowledge and skills in the areas of food security, water management, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and security and the rule of law.

An OKP scholarship is intended to supplement the salary that you should continue to receive during the scholarship period. The scholarship is a contribution towards your costs of living and costs such as tuition fees, visa, travel, insurance etc. You have to cover any difference between the OKP scholarship amount and the actual costs yourself.

Requirements

To be eligible for the OKP, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a national of, and living and working in, one of the eligible countries
  • Have an employer's statement that complies with the format provided by Nuffic
  • Have an official and valid passport
  • Not have received more than one OKP scholarship in the past
  • Meet the specific requirements of the institution and programme they are applying to
