The PEO International Peace Scholarships for Women is a program that offers financial assistance to women from countries outside the United States who want to pursue graduate studies in the United States and Canada. The program was established in 1949 by the PEO Sisterhood, a philanthropic organization that promotes educational opportunities for women.

Since its inception, the program has helped over 1,900 women from more than 100 countries pursue graduate studies in a variety of fields. The program is unique in that it provides full or partial scholarships to women who are dedicated to making a difference in their home countries and who wish to contribute to the advancement of peace and understanding around the world.

Requirements

To be eligible for the PEO International Peace Scholarships for Women program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a woman from a country outside the United States or Canada.
  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent before the start of the academic program.
  • Be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
  • Intend to return to her home country upon completion of the program.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in her home country and advancing peace and understanding around the world.
