The University of New South Wales (UNSW) International Scholarships are awarded annually to outstanding international students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills, and community involvement. The scholarship program aims to attract talented and high-achieving students from around the world to pursue their studies at UNSW, one of Australia's leading research-intensive universities.

The scholarships are highly competitive and cover a range of disciplines, including business, engineering, law, medicine, science, and the arts. Recipients of the scholarships receive financial assistance to cover tuition fees and living expenses, as well as access to a range of academic and career development opportunities.

Level of Study

The benefits of the UNSW International Scholarships vary depending on the scholarship, but may include:

  • Full or partial tuition fee waivers
  • Living stipends to cover accommodation and other living expenses
  • Opportunities for academic and career development, including internships, mentoring, and networking events
  • Access to UNSW's world-class facilities and resources, including research labs, libraries, and sports facilities

International Scientia Coursework Scholarship: Full tuition fee or $20,000 per annum paid directly towards tuition fees for the minimum duration of program.


To be eligible for the UNSW International Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an international student
  • Have received an offer of admission to a UNSW undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program
  • Demonstrate academic excellence, as evidenced by their academic transcripts and/or test scores
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and/or community involvement, as evidenced by their resume or CV
  • Meet any additional eligibility criteria specific to individual scholarships
