How much does it cost to Study Engineering in Carleton University?

Carleton University is one of the most expensive universities in Canada. The cost of studying at Carleton is approximately $22,000 per year including tuition fees and other associated costs such as textbooks and accommodation expenses.

The application fee for international students is $150 USD and for Canadian students it’s $125 CAD (which is about $94 USD). The average cost for textbooks per semester is approximately $200 USD depending on your choice of major (e.g., mechanical engineering versus electrical engineering).

The total cost of studying at Carleton including tuition fees, application fees, and textbooks would be approximately $22,000 USD ($3,600 USD per semester) for an international student or $16,000 CAD ($3,000 CAD per semester) for a Canadian student.

To be eligible for the Carleton University Engineering Scholarships for International Students, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • be enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited university in North America or Europe;
  • have completed at least one year of studies (30 credits) at this institution;
  • have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale); and
  • be pursuing an engineering degree from the Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Science at Carleton University (Toronto, Ontario).

How to Apply for Carleton University Engineering Scholarships for International Students?

Available Carleton University Engineering Scholarships for International Students

Carleton University is offering scholarships to international students who are interested in studying Engineering at the school. The scholarships include:

  1.  The Carleton Engineering Scholarship: This scholarship will cover 50% of the student’s tuition fees based on their GPA, but only if they’re enrolled in one of our engineering programs (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.). It’s worth $3,000 per year and it’s open to any nationality but the application deadline is November 15th so make sure you get your application in on time!
  2.  The International Student Scholarship: This scholarship covers 100% of your tuition fees if you’re an international student from outside North America or Europe (Australia counts as Europe for this purpose). It’s worth $6,000 per year and it’s open to any nationality but the application deadline is October 1st so make sure you get your application in on time!
  3.  The URAP Award: This award covers 100% of your tuition fees if you’re part of the Underrepresented Racialized And Indigenous Population Program at Carleton University (meaning that at least one parent or grandparent was born outside Canada). It’s worth $4,000 per year and it’s open to any nationality but the application deadline is March 1st so make sure you get your application in on time!
  4.  McGill Scholarship: This award covers tuition and living expenses while attending Carleton University as an undergraduate student who plans to pursue studies in the field of Engineering. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents with at least one year of full-time study remaining at the university level.
  5.  Ferguson Scholarship: This award covers tuition only while attending Carleton University as an undergraduate student who plans to pursue studies in the field of Engineering. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents with at least one year of full-time study remaining at the university level.
  6.  Wilson Scholarship: This award covers tuition only while attending Carleton University as an undergraduate student who plans to pursue studies in the field of Engineering. Recipients must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents with at least one year of full-time study remaining at the university level.
