Best Work and Study Job Opportunities for International Students Studying at University of Alberta

Studying abroad is an incredible experience, but it can be hard to make ends meet while living in a new country where you don’t know many people yet. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of part-time jobs that international students can apply for while they’re studying at the University of Alberta.

  1. Data Entry: If you’re great at typing and don’t mind repetitive tasks, then data entry might be right up your alley! Companies are always looking for people who can input information accurately and quickly, so this could be a great way to make some extra money during your semester abroad.
  2. Teaching English: If your native language is English then you might have some luck finding work as an ESL teacher! It doesn’t matter whether you have teaching experience or not; many companies will train you how to teach their curriculum if you have a native speaker accent (like American or British English). Just make sure that you have enough space in your schedule for lesson planning!
  3. Dishwashing: Not every student has enough money saved up for a washing machine or dryer so dishwashing can be a great way to earn some cash without having to pay for laundry services every week! Make sure that you ask around first though because some places will only hire students with previous dishwashing experience so it’s important to do your research before sending out applications blindly!
  4. Student Ambassador Program: The Student Ambassador Program at the University of Alberta is looking for outgoing, enthusiastic individuals to represent their country and culture on campus through interactive activities such as food demos or storytelling.
  5. Library Assistant: The libraries at the UofA are always looking for help! Whether it’s shelving books or helping patrons find what they’re looking for, we need all kinds of library assistants! All you need is enthusiasm and a love for reading!
  6. Tutor: We know how hard it is to keep up with university classes when English isn’t your first language, so why not help others learn while making some money at the same time? If you have experience teaching ESL or are fluent in multiple languages, then this job would be perfect for you!
  7. Research Assistant: If you have an interest in science then this job would be perfect for you! Researchers need people who can read through scientific articles and provide feedback on them so if this sounds like something that interests you then don’t hesitate to apply!
  8. Sales Associate: Do you like talking to people? Then being a sales associate might be right up your alley! Working in retail will give you plenty of opportunities to meet new people every day so if this sounds like something that interests you then don’t hesitate to apply!
