Amalgamated Union of a public corporation, civil service Technical and Recreational services employees(AUPCTRE) has charged the government at all levels to prioritise workers welfare in order to boost the nations productivity.

The labour union gave the charge in Ibadan, during the 26th plenary session of its national governing council, with the theme The role of working class in advancing decent work agenda in a democratic setting.

He underscored the need for the political leadership to explore measures aimed at tackling challenges, thus creating an enabling environment for the workers with a view to increasing their productivity for spiral effects on the socioeconomic growth of the country.

Anthony stated Our union is at the forefront in mobilising the working class in responding to the challenges and impact of climate change at workplaces.

As workers, we must be conscious of the 2018 IPCC special report on the impact of global warming of 1.5 degrees centigrade, an increase in temperature, a huge risk to health, livelihood, food security, water supply, human security and economic growth.

In his reaction, the comptroller of the Federal Ministry of Labour, Oyo State chapter, Festus Igbinosu, assured of synergy with the workers in the state to fight for and uphold their rights without sentiments.
